YOUTH MINISTRIES
JUMP (Jr High) & VERTICAL (Sr High)
PROMOTION DAY – Next Sunday the sixth grade class will move up to JUMP; the eighth grade class will move to VERTICAL; and the seniors will move to The Beacon College Ministry. Please go to your regular class that day and then you will be promoted together. All other grades will promote Sunday, August 22.UPCOMING EVENTS FOR THE YOUTH GROUPS – Make plans to spend some time this summer being involved in the youth group. Many activities are being planned for you.
SR. HIGH (VERTICAL) -
- June 2 – Be involved in serving those around you, your family, friends, and neighbors. No meeting at church.
- June 9 – Will meet at Pioneer Park (Hwy. 17) from 6:30-9 p.m. in Shelter 2 by the tennis courts. Bring your tennis gear, baseball, softball, and basketball equipment. Parents are to drop off and pick up at the park.
JR. HIGH (JUMP) -

- June 11 – We will be heading to Kings Island for the day. Transportation will be available. Ticket prices are TBA. Sign up in the Connect youth room.
- July 5-9 – CIY Know Sweat – The first nine students who sign up for this event will head to Milligan, Tennessee, and do work for those in need. There will also be a worship time each evening. Cost is $264. See Jeff Heyob for further information or questions.
MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY – Join the Monday night Men’s Bible study in a study of Paul’s Epistle to the Romans. We meet in the library at 7 p.m. every Monday.
WOMEN'S MINISTRIES
ADULT BIBLE FELLOWSHIP MINISTRIESTHE INVISIBLE WAR – Ephesians 6 tells us to put on the armour of God, but do you know who you are fighting or how to defend yourself? The Homebuilders Class (room 201) is studying the series, The Invisible War: What every believer needs to know about Satan, demons, and spiritual warfare. Anyone is welcome to join this class for this series.
CALVARY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL MINISTRIESVACATION BIBLE SCHOOL NEEDS – Parents please save your baby food jars and bring them to the church to be used in this year’s VBS. You may place your jars in the basket beside the nursery.
NATIONAL BIBLE BEE - The 2010 National Bible Bee is coming to Calvary Baptist Church. Participating in the Bible Bee will bring your family closer to one another, help you delve deeply into the Word of God and introduce you to other families who have the same heart for the Lord that you do. The local contest will be held on Saturday, August 28, at Calvary. The National Bible Bee is designed to encourage family discipleship through Bible study, Scripture memorization and prayer. THE 412 MINISTRIESCALVARY’S RESOURCE CENTER – The 412 is located in the hallway off the atrium and is open after the morning and evening services on Sundays and Wednesdays from 8-9 p.m. Father’s Day, Graduation Bibles and other items can be ordered. We also have gift certificates available.
HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE GRADUATE NAMES – If you have a child graduating from high school, college, or nursing school this year, please contact Katrina Bowers (kbowers@calvarybaptistky.org or 491-1955) by Wednesday, June 2, to have his/her name added to our list for a bulletin insert on June 6. Names will only be included if you contact us.
LOVE OFFERING – If you would still like to donate toward the love offering gifts for Pastor Jeff Stimpson and Dr. Don James, please mark your check or love offering envelope accordingly.
SYMPATHY – We extend our love and sympathy to the following in the recent death of a loved one:
- Willard Slade and Della Snell and families in the death of their sister, Ethel Streit.
- Diana Hogue and family in the death of her sister, Judy Fott.
CONGRATULATIONS – We congratulate proud grandparents, David and Carol Ray, and great-grandparents, Keith and Velma Jean Ray, on the birth of a grandson, Jordan Michael Sumner, born May 17, to Michael and Kelly (Downey) Sumner.

CHURCH CLOSED – The church will be closed tomorrow for the Memorial Day holiday.
